I have a (12 V, 600A, 22 Ah) Dynamite AutoPower battery (sealed lead-acid battery) for emergency jumps for my car and emergency power in case of a power outage. It says to recharge every three months when not in use, so I went to get the AC charger (wall-wart) and it has disappeared.

The user guide says that the AC charger is 500mA. My question is this, if I go to Radio Shack to look for a replacement, what specifications do I have to look for? Will any AC charger that says 500 mA be okay (assuming that the connector fits)? If they don't have one that is exactly 500 mA, can I safely go higher or lower? I read Kringle's response in the 'Can I charge a Sealed Lead Acid with Auto Charger' thread and didn't really follow the 'Cycle Applications' and 'Float' of Stand-By Service' info, but my battery has lights to tell me when it is fully charged, so I don't think overcharging will be an issue. You would need to monitor the battery voltage, and disconnect it when charged.
